Design build project and home renovation of a kitchen, living room and dining room. It was discovered during selective structural demolition that the house was suffering from severe subterranean termite damage requiring unforeseen extensive select removal and replacement of wall and roof wood framing members. Half of the house was [re] built and reimagined in the middle of construction into a modern house design. As a signal toward new beginnings, the vaulted ceiling design evokes a bird in flight representing a house that has transformed from weak and destabled to strong and durable.
