Commercial architectural project and full scale remodel of an existing fire station in Goodyear, Arizona. While the existing building exterior walls and roof largely remained unaltered, all existing interior rooms and finishes were demolished back to structure and a new fire station was reimagined within an existing envelope. With a list of technical items to remain undisturbed, the architectural design provides private dorm rooms with casement windows and independently zoned heating and cooling; comfortable dining areas with large tables that foster teamwork and hanging out, break rooms, teaching rooms and an exercise room to keep up with the intense demands of being a firefighter. E5 Design-Build was hired by the architect as a consultant to manage the performance and constructability of the project.
