Full Time, Part Time - Phoenix, AZ

Projects are successful because they have been effectively supervised during the course of construction. The ideal superintendent is a good listener and has strong decision-making skills. They understand what is at risk because they have analyzed and reviewed each possible outcome. As a superintendent, you are humble yet firm and you are ok acknowledging what you don’t know. The superintendent sets the tone and establishes relationships with project stakeholders. They are disciplined and organized in their processes. 

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret construction drawings – architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, boundary survey
  • Onsite trade coordination and supervision
  • Scheduling and sequencing of work to include city inspections and special inspections
  • Develop and review shop drawings
  • Control and manage project paperwork both physically and digitally
  • Perform basic cost estimating and quantity takeoffs

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Honorably discharged military service is a plus 
  • Proven experience working in an onsite field position
  • Highly proficient using a tape measure, speed square, 3-4-5 squaring method, long line, chalk line, laser levels, transit levels aka “shooting in grade points”, plumb bob
  • Understanding the points, lines and planes of a project
  • Read and interpret construction drawings – architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, boundary survey
  • Proficiency in G Suite Applications  (Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides), Adobe Acrobat and markups, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketchup a plus
  • Diligent note taker and can sketch basic details
